Muhammad Ibrahim Hassan Al-Sinwar was born on September 16, 1975, in a refugee camp in the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.
His family took refuge in Khan Yunis after emigrating from their original town, Majdal Ashkelon, inside occupied Palestine, during the Nakba in 1948.
He received his basic education in schools affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
He was influenced at an early age by his older brother, Yahya, a prominent leader in Hamas and head of its political office in Gaza. Muhammad was one of the pioneers of mosques, and one of the first generation to join the ranks of this movement since its inception on December 14, 1987.
From his early days, he showed a leadership personality, and was a Hamas activist in resisting the Israeli occupation during the Great Intifada of 1987-1993.
In 2005, he assumed the position of commander of the Khan Yunis Brigade in the Hamas office.
He later became a prominent member of the staff of the Al-Qassam Brigades.
He currently holds the position of his brother, the martyr Yahya Al-Sanwar, may God have mercy on him, as commander of the military wing of Hamas.
He has a prominent role in several operations against Israel. He is one of the architects of the Shalit deal. He is also considered one of the engineers of the Gaza tunnels after their appearance in the Al-Aqsa flood, which caused a major disruption in the occupier’s system, which made him one of the first names of those sought by the occupation.

ولد محمد إبراهيم حسن السنوار يوم 16 سبتمبر/أيلول 1975، في مخيم للاجئين بمدينة خان يونس جنوب قطاع غزة.
لجأت أسرته إلى خان يونس بعد هجرتها من بلدتها الأصلية "مجدل عسقلان" داخل فلسطين المحتلة، إبان النكبة عام 1948.
تلقى تعليمه الأساسي في مدارس تابعة لوكالة الأمم المتحدة لغوث وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين (أونروا).
تأثر في سن مبكرة بشقيقه الأكبر يحيى السنوار ، القيادي البارز في حماس ورئيس مكتبها السياسي في غزة، فكان محمد من رواد المساجد، ومن الرعيل الأول الذي التحق بصفوف هذه الحركة منذ نشأتها في 14 ديسمبر/كانون الأول 1987.
أظهر منذ بداياته شخصية قيادية، وكان من نشطاء حماس في مقاومة الاحتلال الإسرائيلي إبان الانتفاضة الكبرى 1987-1993.
تولى عام 2005منصب قائد لواء خان يونس في مكتب حماس.
وأصبح بعد ذلك عضوا بارزا في هيئة الأركان بكتائب القسام .
يشغل حاليا منصب أخوه الشهيد يحي السنوار رحمه الله كقائد للجناح العسكري لحماس .
له دور بارز في عدة عمليات على إسرائيل فهو أحد أحد مهندسي صفقة شاليط ،ويعتبر أيضا أحد مهندسي أنفاق غزة والتي أحدثت خللا كبيرا في نظام المحتل الأمر الذي جعله في أوائل أسماء المبحوث عنهم من
